Nathaniel Lesch-Huie, NKHS Clinical Social Worker in the Children and Family Services Department (CYFS) created the CYFS Ski & Snowboard Program. This program aims to teach kids how to develop the skills to overcome feelings of self-doubt and believe in their ability to overcome challenging moments.
Andrew Grittner gained confidence, education, and work experience, leading him to independence with help from NKHS.
Through action and involvement, children participating in activities such as building nature trails and planting, cultivating, and harvesting a garden are learning that there are steps involved in producing outcomes relating to change and progress.
NKHS provides opportunities for those in our community to gain employment where they can work on their skillset and meet new people.
When we are able to show people from a young age the right tools to manage their mental health, the positive effects can last a lifetime.
